Casinos spruce up nightclub offerings

Mohegan Sun in Uncasville and Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket unveiled new nighttime offerings for patrons this summer, trying to entice the clubbing crowd.

Mohegan Sun opened its new Vista Lounge on July 28 in the space formerly occupied by Leffingwell’s Martini Bar in the resort’s upper level.

Vista is designed to give visitors an intimate atmosphere where they can gather on couches and cornered off areas with a small group of people while still inhabiting the 450-person capacity club.

To bring the glitz to the casino, the club offers one bar each on two levels, creative cocktails, a dance floor and custom blackjack tables for guests. Celebrity Jenny McCarthy hosted a special grand opening preview of the club on July 21.

Over at Foxwoods, the resort is offering new deals at its high-end bowling alley/night club, High Rollers Luxury Lanes.

The bowling alley, which opened two years ago, now offers summer passes for guests to get two free games of bowling per visit.

High Rollers also offers a stylish dining experience with specialty martinis as well as appetizers, sandwiches and salads.

Each property offers exhibits and programs about dinosaurs and paleontology that draw on the rich history of dinosaur research and fossil discovery in the Connecticut Valley. The Dinosaur Trail links these venues and three hotel partners in the central and eastern portion of the state in a collaboration that recognizes the public’s fascination for dinosaurs and the ability of these creatures to spark the imagination of young and old alike.
