Carrier’s energy efficiency subsidiary buys Canadian firm

The energy efficiency subsidiary of Farmington refrigeration manufacturer Carrier Corp. on Wednesday acquired a Canadian firm specializing in control systems for high-profile office buildings.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Carrier’s Automated Logic Corp., which provides building management to maximize energy efficiency, acquired Integrated Control Solutions, Inc. of Ottawa, Canada.

The move helps Carrier gain more high-profile commercial office buildings and institutions in Ottawa and eastern Ontario. Following the acquisition, the company plans to expand further into Ontario, said ICS President Rudy Paleshnuik.

Carrier is a unit of Hartford conglomerate United Technologies Corp.
