Carrier launches green training program

Danbury air flow manufacturer Carrier Corp. last week launched its Carrier University Institute for Sustainability, a new educational tool to train employees and customers on green building solutions.

Carrier is the first company to license such as a program under the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED curriculum. In this capacity, Carrier can offer training by instructors who are trained by USGBC but who work for Carrier.

“Education is perhaps the most important foundation for the green building movement,” Carrier President Geraud Darnis, said in a statement. “The Carrier University Institute for Sustainability will provide a focal point for sustainability education in the buildings marketplace and promote the advancement of green buildings around the world.”

Carrier has 400 LEED accredited professionals and now can organize educational workshops on green building practices.
