Carrier develops home heating efficiency

Farmington air flow manufacturer Carrier Corp. announced Wednesday a breakthrough in home heating with a new air source heat pump that will have the highest efficiency on the market.

The Greenspeed intelligence heat pump gives homeowners consistent indoor temperature while reducing the use of fossil fuels by using a variable speed scroll compressor. The pump was introduced Wednesday at the Air Conditioning Contractors of America Conference & Indoor Air Expo in San Antonio.

“Carrier is committed to developing residential heating and cooling products that take innovation to a higher degree,” said Chris Nelson, vice president sales and marketing, Carrier Residential and Commercial Systems, in a statement.

Carrier is a subsidiary of Hartford conglomerate United Technologies Corp.
