The New Haven law firm of Carmody, Torrance, Sandak & Hennessey LLP has elected Richard L. Street managing partner, effective February 1. Previously Street was assistant managing partner and practice group leader of the firm’s litigation group.
Street joined the firm as an associate in 1993 and made partner in 2001. He is a trial lawyer with substantial experience representing energy companies and other businesses in land use, catastrophic personal injury and construction litigation matters.
Street earned his JD from Duke University School of Law and AB cum laude from Hamilton College. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Waterbury Bar Association, New Haven Bar Association and the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association.

Matthew E. Hummel has joined KeyBank in the newly created position of commercial banking team leader, reporting to Market President James Barger. Hummel will lead and expand the team of commercial bankers serving middle-market clients in Connecticut and western Massachusetts. Hummel has more than 30 years of commercial banking experience, primarily with Bank of America’s Global Commercial Banking group. Hummel holds an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Hartford, and a BA from Colby College.

Maura Daly Iversen, a physical therapist and behavioral scientist/clinical epidemiologist with a primary focus in rheumatology, has been named dean of Sacred Heart University’s College of Health Professions. Iversen previously was associate dean of Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences in Boston. She earned a bachelor’s certificate in physical therapy from Simmons College, a doctor of physical therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions, a master’s in public health from Boston University School of Public Health and a doctorate in health and social behavior from Harvard University’s School of Public Health.

The Connecticut chapter of the international organization Conscious Capitalism has elected new officers for its board of directors. Gavin Watson, recently of Watson Inc., succeeds outgoing chair Larry Bingaman, president and CEO of the South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority. Watson was part of the leadership team that sold Watson Inc., a West Haven manufacturer of food ingredients, to Irish nutrient maker Glanbia Nutritionals for $89 million in 2019.
