Carlyle selling more of its SS&C share for $242M

Investment firm The Carlyle Group is selling a $242 million stake in Windsor financial software provider SS&C Technologies.

SS&C announced Thursday that Carlyle was offering 7.5 million shares of its stock holdings in the company for $32.20 per share.

After the offering closes on May 14, Carlyle will own 9.22 percent of the company. When SS&C had it initial public offering in 2010, the Washington, D.C. investment firm owned 63 percent of the company.

Carlyle sold off another portion of its ownership in March when it teamed with SS&C founder William Stone in a $202 million offering.
