South Windsor food manufacturer Carla’s Pasta announced on Monday its new meatless product line, Pronto Pasta.
Pronto Pasta meals are pre-cooked and meant to be heated in a microwave steam bag. The meatless line is specifically catered to the late winter and early spring months when Catholics are celebrating Lent. Featured meals include six-cheese sacchettini and spinach and egg striped ravioli.
The Pronto Pasta meals are designed to taste home-cooked, serving as an authentic alternative to spending hours preparing a meal, said Carla Squatrito, founder of Carla’s Pasta.
Carla’s distributes 285 pasta and pesto sauces to more than 1 million restaurants across the country and sells grocery products such as Pronto Pasta at stores in New York and New England.
