What do you do? I am the Quality & ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence) Manager for a fuel cell manufacturer, UTC Power. I am focused on driving the organization towards exceptional performance in quality, which includes driving down cost of poor quality, leading escape-reduction initiatives for all internal and external processes and supplier development. In addition, I am responsible for providing organizational guidance and direction in pursuit of world class lean implementation and execution.
What do you want to be doing in 10 years? I am constantly setting stretch goals for myself as well as setting high expectations. In 10 years, I desire to be in a leadership position within a fast-paced, industry-leading organization that is allowing me to maximize my potential and talents.
What is your biggest strength? My biggest strength is that I am highly motivated and determined with a strong focus on results.
Where do you go for new ideas? For new ideas, I tend to reflect on my past experiences. I analyze all the “trials and errors” of my life to understand what worked well, what didn’t and what can be utilized in various applications.
What is the best advice you received? The best advice I received was about factoring in my family/personal goals into my career aspirations. As I strive for great things in my career, I consistently reflect on this piece of advice to ensure I am prioritizing all the goals and needs in the major aspects of my life.
What service or charitable cause has your attention? American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an event that celebrates the lives of people who have battled and survived cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. I participated in the Relay For Life East Hartford event for the past 3 years as the team captain for UTC Power. In 2012, I served as the executive sponsor for UTC Power as well. This event has a significant meaning me because my fundraising efforts have a direct impact in creating a world where cancer will no longer exist. The battle against cancer hit home for me last year when my wife’s grandmother lost her life to cancer after a long admirable fight.
