CareCentrix planning 150 new hires this year

Editor’s note: This story has been updated with details from CareCentrix released March 18.

Healthcare management provider CareCentrix, which moved to Hartford from East Hartford in early 2013 with the help of a $24 million ‘First Five’ assistance package from the state, will take an additional floor in the Stilts Building in preparation for hiring up to 150 workers, it announced.

The company now has three floors in the 20 Church St. building.

CareCentrix said it’s planning a job fair to start identifying candidates for the positions, which include associates, supervisors, managers and directors.

The hires would bring the company’s total Hartford staff size to 500 — which bring it extremely close to getting the second tranche of its $24 million package from the state.

Under its 2012 deal with the Department of Economic and Community Development, CareCentrix received a $12 million grant for agreeing retaining the 213 jobs it has at the time.

It will receive an additional $12 million for creating 290 more jobs — a total of 503.

“Expanding our corporate headquarters marks the next chapter in our partnership with the state of Connecticut and the city of Hartford,” CEO John Driscoll said in a statement.
