A cluster of four vacant houses just off Interstate 84 in Waterbury will shortly be replaced with a car wash following a recent $1.55 million sale of the properties.
In a deed recorded June 10, a Prospect-based limited liability company whose principal is Vincent Porzio acquired 15, 25 and 31 Austin Road, along with 0 and 33 Matteson St.
The properties are located near the corner of East Main Street and Austin Road, just off a highway interchange. Collectively, they tally to just under 1.5 acres and host four vacant houses dating from 1919 to 1960.The properties were sold by a limited liability company whose principal is Vincent LoRusso Jr., of Middlebury.
This collection of properties had been on the market for several years, said David Theroux, owner of Drubner Commercial. Theroux, who represented both buyer and seller, confirmed the new owner plans to knock down the houses and build a car wash.
“It’s an excellent spot right on and off the highway,” Theroux said.
