Cannabis retailer Verano is opening a dispensary close to UConn’s main Storrs campus. Zen Leaf Ashford debuts this week at 55 Nott Highway, a 10-minute drive from the campus.
It marks the multi-state retailer’s sixth location in Connecticut. It also operates dispensaries in Meriden, Naugatuck, Newington, Norwich and Waterbury.
Verano’s Connecticut operations also include a 217,000-square-foot CTPharma cultivation and processing facility in Rocky Hill.
The Ashford Zen Leaf dispensary says it will market to students with discounts and promotions during sports events.

The company says it will hold an on-site job fair this weekend, with the opportunity for interviews for prospective employees.
