A California-based company has acquired water treatment business Clearwater Industries, which is headquartered in Shelton, according to an announcement.
Economic Alternatives Inc. (EAI Water) said the acquisition is a strategic expansion into the East Coast that “strengthens its position as a coast-to-coast leader in industrial water treatment services.”
Clearwater, founded in 1992, provides water treatment services throughout the Northeast.
The company operates from an 11,000-square foot facility at 415 Bridgeport Ave.
Founded in 1992, Clearwater grew from an owner-operated business to a team of 22 employees, according to its website.
Sylmar Group, a water supply and irrigation systems company in Los Angeles, is providing financial support for the deal. Sylmar was founded by Michael Warady, a 2017 Yale School of Management graduate.
EAI Water, which was founded in 1986, operates in California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Washington and Ohio.
