More than 800 Hartford property owners will be joining a class action law suit against the City of Hartford over substantial hikes in their upcoming July tax bills. The Hartford Small Business Alliance, an initiative of the South Hartford Community Alliance, launched a legal fund over the weekend and has since retained an attorney to lead their charge. Due to the city’s real estate revaluation, tax bills have either dropped – some by 32 percent – or increased to as high as 125 percent. The group is currently meeting with the mayor’s office and plans to meet with state lawmakers tomorrow.
