Energy construction firm Burns & McDonnell has expanded its Wallingford campus, as the company added 175 jobs over the last five years.
Burns signed a 7.5-year lease with Wallingford landlord Workstage-Connecticut, LLC for space in the newly constructed 300,000-square-foot Campus at Greenhill. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The facility is registered under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, or LEED, program, with energy efficiency features.
Burns, which officially opened the office Tuesday, initially came into Wallingford in 2006 with three full-time employees. The office since grew to 180 employees as the company landed some of New England’s major energy construction contracts, including the $2 billion New England East West Solutions transmission project from Hartford-based Northeast Utilities.
