Building materials supplier Parksite has opened a new distribution center in East Windsor, growing the company’s presence in Connecticut from two locations — both in neighboring South Windsor — to three.
In a statement, Parksite officials said the firm’s new site at 12 S. Main St. — anchored by a 150,000-square-foot warehouse and surrounding outdoor storage space — will help enhance service in Northeastern markets.
“We’ve outgrown our current South Windsor facilities and this new space will allow us to improve warehouse efficiencies which will ultimately result in a higher level of service for our customers,” said Jim Coulter, the company’s director of supply chain.
Parksite operates a sales office and distribution center at 455 Sullivan Ave. in South Windsor, and Parksite’s wholly owned hardwood plywood and panel products subsidiary, Atlantic Plywood Corp., has operations nearby at 1590 John Fitch Boulevard.
According to its website, Parksite is 100% employee-owned, and has its corporate headquarters in Batavia, Illinois. It has 23 locations in the U.S. and employs over 750 people.
