Bubba Watson commits to 2018 Travelers Championship

Two-time Travelers Championship winner Bubba Watson has committed to play in the 2018 Travelers Championship, tournament organizers said Tuesday.

Watson will return to TPC River Highlands in Cromwell where he notched his first-ever PGA Tour victory in 2010. The Georgia native, who recently won for the 10th time in his PGA Tour Career, also won the Travelers title in 2015.

Both of Watson’s wins in Cromwell came in a playoff.

“Bubba is a fan favorite and seems to be in contention to win here every year,” Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube said. “Not only that, but off the course he has always taken a personal interest in things that are important to the tournament, whether it’s visiting The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp or supporting our charitable initiatives.”

At the 2016 Travelers Championship, Watson donated $100,000 to the Bruce Edwards Foundation Benefit Dinner to support former Travelers Chairman Jay Fisman. The event raised over $1.3 million for ALS research.
