Thomas Brown of West Hartford has been appointed medical director of Doctors Express Urgent Care Center, which scheduled to open in late March at 2 Main Street, Danbury.
Prior to joining Doctors Express, Brown was affiliated with the Avon Medical Group in Avon. He also has served as assistant professor of medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven and as a research scientist in cardiology and gerontology at the Harvard Institute of Medicine, Beth-Israel Hospital and Harvard Medical School, as well as the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Brown is a graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown and earned a master’s degree in molecular biology and biochemistry from Boston University. He completed his medical training at the University College Dublin School of Medicine in Dublin, Ireland, and the West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, W.V. He served his residency in internal medicine at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Dartmouth Medical School, in Lebanon, N.H.
Doctors Express was formed more than 70 walk-in medical centers in the country since 2005. Doctors Express offers urgent care, digital x-ray services, lab work, occupational health and worker’s comp.
