Insurance brokerage firm Brown & Brown of Connecticut Inc. has struck a deal to acquire the assets of Durham-based Corporate Benefit Consultants LLC.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Corporate Benefit Consultants, which provides specialty employee benefits brokerage and consulting services for public and private sector clients with a particular focus in negotiating group and Taft-Hartley Act health care plans with public employee unions, generates about$3 million in annualized revenues.
Brown & Brown of Connecticut, which is based in Rocky Hill, is a subsidiary of Florida-based Brown & Brown, Inc. and offers various insurance and reinsurance products.
Corporate Benefit Consultants was founded in 1997 by Sonia L. Kaminsky and Dr. Joseph A. “Joe” Fields, who, along with their staff will now join Brown & Brown of Connecticut’s offices in Rocky Hill, under the leadership of Donald M. “Don” McGowan, Jr.
