After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Broadway shopping district in New Haven is readying for its 2022 College Night promotion.
Hosted by The Shops at Yale retailers, the event invites area university students to partake of free entertainment, food giveaways and discounts along Broadway from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.
Discounts of up to 25% are offered to students during the event, along with a raffle for a chance to win an Apple iPad and other prizes with a purchase of $25 at any of The Shops at Yale retailers.
Students can also pick up free food vouchers on the Broadway island to get items like a regular or veggie dog from Bulldog Hotdogs, chips and salsa from Tomatillo Taco Joint, a pizza slice from Yorkside Pizza Restaurant, a donut from Donut Crazy or a mango lassi taste at Sherkaan Indian Street Food.
David DelVecchio, director of real estate asset management at Yale University Properties, said, “We are excited to bring back College Night after a more than two-year pause due to the pandemic. It is a popular event among the Greater New Haven student community, and important as it helps acclimate students with their surroundings.”
All local university students are invited to attend but must RSVP at The Shops at Yale website. IDs will be checked at registration, which starts at 3:30 p.m. at the Broadway island at 56 Broadway. On-site registration is available until 7 p.m.
