Bristol industrial-parts manufacturer Barnes Group Inc. on Monday said it acquired a U.K.-based designer, manufacturer and supplier of customized gas springs.
Barnes says it purchased Industrial Gas Springs (IGS), which has assembly and distribution facilities in the U.S. that serve the transportation, aerospace, medical, general industrial and other industries. Financial terms were not disclosed.
IGS will retain its name under Barnes Group’s industrial segment within its Nitrogen Gas Products (NGP) business.
“We look forward to adding IGS’s force and motion control product applications to our NGP business,” said Barnes Group Senior Vice President Scott A. Mayo, who is also president of Barnes Industrial.
“Their complementary, highly diversified end markets and strong customized product application engineering represent a great opportunity for us to scale and broaden NGP’s technology portfolio and customer base.”
