Bristol manufacturer named national Exporter of the Year

A Bristol company has been named Exporter of the Year by the federal Small Business Administration.

Bauer Inc., its president and CEO Louis Auletta and sales and marketing manager Michael Auletta, will be honored at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on May 5.

Bauer makes equipment that tests and supports aerospace systems for multiple commercial and military customers.

It operates out of a 75,000-square-foot manufacturing and engineering facility in Bristol, and recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. It does business in 80 countries, and says international sales represent 35% of its revenue.

“This national award acknowledges the significance of Connecticut’s manufacturing industry, and the importance of exporting for our state and national economy,” said Catherine Marx, SBA district director. “Bauer’s success is a testament to the power of exporting and the critical role SBA plays in support of small businesses in their growth and international expansion.”
