Bristol’s Arthur G. Russell Co. said it has acquired the operations, inventory and intellectual property of Bodine Automation Technology, which makes manufacturing machines and production systems.
Both companies are in the automated assembly technology industry. AGR, which bought the assets from Missouri’s Detroit Tool & Engineering, said it would continue to support and service Bodine systems worldwide.
Founded in 1933, Bodine was headquartered in Bridgeport until it closed down in 2007. Its assets were sold that year to Detroit Tool.
AGR said the sale will result in more manufacturing jobs in Connecticut.
Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
