Bristol, the Connecticut Department of Corrections, and Connecticut Valley Hospital will be the first three participants in Connecticut’s Lead by Example Performance Contracting Program.
The program provides state agencies and municipalities a standardized way to have third parties cover the upfront costs of energy efficiency upgrades while paying them back through guaranteed savings.
The Department of Energy & Environmental Protection and the Department of Administrative Services created the program to give agencies and towns an easier way to enter into these types of performance contracts. It includes pre-approved contractors, on-call advisors, standardized contract templates, and targeted financial assistance.
The program also provides technical assistance through the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund.
