Dominion’s 14.9-megawatt fuel cell park in Bridgeport turned one year old this week, and Dominion said the park continues to be among the best performing units in its broad generation fleet.
Danbury’s FuelCell Energy provided the five fuel cells for the park, which it maintains under a contract with Dominion.
FuelCell CEO Chip Bottone said in a statement that the Bridgeport facility has drawn worldwide interest.
The company has hosted visitors from Japan, Germany, Spain, the United Kingdon, Ireland and South Korea, as well as U.S. Environmental Protection Agency officials.
The park, which generates enough energy to power 15,000 homes, is selling electricity to the grid under a 15-year agreement.
