Bridgeport bottle redemption company expands with second warehouse purchase

Simple Bottle Return is expanding its Bridgeport operations with the purchase of a second warehouse in the same business complex it moved into two years ago.

The company bought a one-story, 25,000-square-foot building at 1100 Boston Ave. for $975,000, said Christopher O’Hara, a broker with Westport-based Coldwell Banker Commercial Realty.

Simple Bottle Return founder Frederick Miers said the newly acquired space will serve as a high-volume can and bottle redemption center.

The seller was an affiliate of New York-based real estate investment firm Time Equities Inc.

The building, constructed in 1900, was appraised at $786,960 and assessed at $550,872 in 2024, according to property records.

In 2023, Simple Bottle Return purchased a nearby 68,750-square-foot building in the same complex for $2.75 million. That property also houses company operations.

The company relocated to Bridgeport in 2023 from a smaller Stratford facility it operated for about three decades, according to its website.
