Branford software firm in line for $3M state loan, grant

Data-management software maker Core Informatics LLC will get a $3 million state assistance package to expand its Branford headquarters.

If the Bond Commission approves the funding later this week, the Department of Economic and Community Development would provide a $2.75-million, 10-year loan to Core with an interest rate of 2 percent. The state would defer the first three years of principal on the loan.

DECD would forgive $1 million of the loan if Core retains 15 jobs and creates 69 new ones by 2019.

DECD would also provide a $250,000 grant.

Core plans to invest $5.4 million in the headquarters expansion.
