Branford pledges to Clean Energy Communities

Branford is the latest Connecticut town to enter the Clean Energies Communities program, joining more than 50 other municipalities pledging to reduce energy consumption by 20 percent by 2018.

By pledging to the program, an Energize Connecticut initiative, Branford is aiming to allocate at least 20 percent of municipal electrical needs to renewable energy sources and participate in more environmental programs, like Home Energy Solutions assessments.

Through successful administration of the project, Branford residents will have the opportunity to earn grant funding for a clean-energy project of the town’s choice.

The Energy Resource Group Technologies, Inc. and New England Conservation Services, will donate $50 to the Branford Cares Fund for every residence that signs up for an HES assessment.
