Bradley International Airport’s parking system debuts new look

The parking system at Bradley International Airport debuted a new look and name this week, a move airport officials say will help customers navigate parking-related offerings at the facility.

The parking system is now named “sPARK,” and more parts of the rebranding will be unveiled during the summer, Connecticut Airport Authority officials said.

The new branding includes a new logo and design with an airplane icon. In addition to the rebranding, the CAA said it is planning to roll out upgrades to Bradley’s parking product in the future.

The initiative coincides with the mid-July opening of a new $210 million ground transportation center at the airport, a 13.4-acre expansion at the property.

The new center has improved access to rental cars, more parking and future links to public transit. The facility sports a modern design intended to streamline operations, save time for passengers and improve access to public transportation while eliminating traffic congestion.

The center includes rental car service operations for nine brands and 830 new public parking spaces — a 10% increase. There’s also a sheltered walking area from the main terminal, Terminal A, which leads to the rental cars. The facility is expected to eliminate more than 250,000 shuttle trips per year, the airport said. There will be more than 50 electric vehicle charging stations.
