Passengers arriving at and departing from Bradley International Airport now have access to enhanced COVID-19 testing facilities, the Connecticut Airport Authority said Tuesday.
The airport’s virus testing location has been expanded for better privacy and passenger flow, and more staff have been hired by contractor Genesys Diagnostics to conduct tests. Heavy demand for testing has led Genesys to offer pre-registration and an automated registration and notification process so passengers get automated test results.
Bradley’s COVID-19 testing site opened in late September and has tested 4,000 people so far. The Airport Authority said that results are typically available within 72 hours of testing but times may vary due to high demand.
Passengers wishing to be tested for COVID-19 at the airport are urged to pre-register at www.gdilabs.com and check their health insurance to confirm that the testing is covered. A self-pay option is also available for $125 per test.
The Airport Authority said it was planning an additional drive-thru testing site in one of the airport parking lots “in the near future” that would be open to the public in addition to airport passengers.
