Bradley International Airport announced this morning that Southwest Airlines will begin offering daily, nonstop service to Denver on March 14.
Bradley’s nonstop service to Denver ended in 2007, when Frontier Airlines cut back on the number of its flights.
Southwest Airlines will offer an introductory fare of $79.
One flight per day Sunday through Friday will depart Bradley at 8:10 a.m., arriving to Denver International Airport at 10:30 a.m. The morning arrival is timed to allow passengers to connect with Southwest cities throughout the western U.S. The return flight leaves Denver at 3:45 p.m., arriving at Bradley at 9:30 p.m. The Saturday flight leaves Bradley at 9:05 a.m., arriving 11:25 a.m. Another Saturday flight leaves Denver at 11:20 a.m., arriving at 5:05 p.m. to Bradley.Â
Southwest, which offers 17 daily nonstop flights to seven cities from Bradley, will utilize its Boeing 737 fleet..
Earlier this week, Bradley also announced that Delta Airlines and Southwest Airlines will be adding flights from Connecticut to four warm-weather destinations.
Kiran Jain, the airport’s director of marketing and route development, told its board last week that Delta Airlines will revive the Cancun, Mexico, route in November. It’s also adding flights to Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers in Florida.
She says Southwest Airlines is increasing service to Tampa and Baltimore next spring.
Northwest Airlines’ nonstop service to Amsterdam ended last fall as fuel prices soared.Â
