Bradley International Airport will launch a new route to Miami by airline JetBlue starting June 24, JetBlue announced.
The new route will run from Bradley in Windsor Locks to Miami International Airport, JetBlue said. With the new Bradley-to-Miami service, JetBlue will have 11 nonstop routes out of the Connecticut airport.
“Offering our award-winning service and low fares between Hartford and Miami means we can attract new customers and grow in both regions,” said Scott Laurence, head of revenue and planning at JetBlue.
In November and December JetBlue established new nonstop routes between Bradley and Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Cancún, Mexico. JetBlue’s announcement of the new Miami route comes amid the recent launch of a Southwest Airlines route from Bradley to Nashville.
The new routes are a bright spot for Bradley, which has experienced heavy revenue losses as passenger traffic cratered amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the pandemic Bradley has seen its daily levels of passenger traffic hover at about 75% lower than 2019 levels.
