The Connecticut Science Center and Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc. have launched a new Innovation Lab aimed at expanding STEM education opportunities across the state.
The lab, located at the Science Center in Hartford, will offer hands-on programming focused on careers in human health, biology and pharmaceutical sciences, according to an announcement Thursday.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for March 27 as part of a STEM career event expected to draw more than 500 middle and high school students.
Boehringer, which has its U.S. headquarters and a major research and development center in Ridgefield, said the initiative is intended to connect classroom learning with career pathways in science and medicine.
