Bob’s Stores is closing soon in the Enfield Commons shopping center after serving the town for 44 years, according to the property’s operator.
Paramount Realty Services, which owns the 281,000-square-foot shopping hub housing Marshalls, Michaels, Aldi and Old Navy, announced on its website plans to close Bob’s, at 25 Hazard Ave., and redevelop the site into a Homesense and Ultra Beauty.
HomeSense sells home furnishing items and Ulta sells cosmetics and skincare products.
It’s not yet clear when Bob’s, which sells footwear and apparel, in Enfield will close and how many employees will be impacted.
Founded in Middletown in 1954, Bob’s currently operates 11 Connecticut locations including in Middletown, Newington, Waterbury, Milford and Fairfield, according to its website.
Bob’s once had almost 50 locations before the company went bankrupt in 2003 and was acquired by department store overseer TJX Companies, of Framingham, Mass. Its subsidiaries include Homesense, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and others.
