What do you do in your current job? I am fortunate to drive optimal outcomes through leading successful projects for Cigna's individual and family plan segment. I lead operative implementation and execution of programs to make a real difference everyday in the lives of the people Cigna serves.
What are your goals in your current job? I will be a catalyst and convener to build sustainable solutions that create increased value for our customers, company and stakeholders. I will continue to push for a better tomorrow and improve the health, well-being and sense of security for our customers in ways they find proactive, personal and empathetic.
What's your biggest passion? I want to champion meaningful change in the community through nonprofit leadership, innovative development, volunteer mobilization and philanthropic entrepreneurship. I am very motivated and passionate about making a positive and sustainable difference in our community and to the lives of those who need help the most. I feel very blessed and appreciative of the opportunities to help nonprofits and others achieve their goals and dreams.
What are your future professional aspirations? I aspire to cultivate my influence as a positive change agent and leader in our community. Leveraging my experience earning a graduate certificate in public and nonprofit management from UConn and absorbing my existing board and other volunteer experiences, I'm excited to continue helping our community in the future.
How are you involved in the community? I am proactively involved in the Hartford community on several fronts including being a member with United Way's Community Engagement Committee and 2017's Quest Class with Leadership Greater Hartford. I also recently launched Dollar Giving, a platform to promote nonprofits featuring stories and raise money through philanthropic crowdsourcing and microfunding.
If you were governor of Connecticut for a day what is one policy you'd push to improve the state's future? As a member of the State Independent Living Council, I'd fund each of the five Independent Living Centers $500,000 annually over the next 10 years. We must promote equal access, opportunity and full inclusion for individuals with disabilities. We must strengthen our community to be barrier free and promote the rights, value and dignity of individuals with disabilities.
List four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty: Chair board of directors of Independence Unlimited, which helps individuals with disabilities in the Greater Hartford region live independently and achieve their goals and dreams. Connecticut media relations chair of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, which supports research advancement, patient support and wage hope with those affected by pancreatic cancer in Connecticut. Founder and executive director of Dollar Giving, a nonprofit public charity launched this year focused on small donations that give back in a big way to the Hartford community. I share this recognition with my parents and family who taught me selfless life values.
