AT&T may be getting a reprieve in its battle to keep rolling out its U-verse Web-based television service. Attorney General Richard Blumenthal pulled back on his opposition to the service today. He said he will ask the state Department of Public Utility Control for a stay of its most recent decision. That action prevented AT&T from adding any new customers until it applied for a cable TV franchise from the state. AT&T says it won’t do that, and would instead pull back the service and eliminate up to 1,300 current and planned jobs. The matter is currently pending in state court.
