Blumenthal expands his advocacy reach

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal says he’s eager to put his experience as a civil and consumer advocate as former Connecticut attorney general to work on two Senate subcommittees.

The first-term senator will serve on the subcommittee on antitrust, competition policy and consumer rights; and the newly created subcommittee on privacy, technology and the law, which will deal with privacy and security in the digital age.

Blumenthal has also been named to the subcommittee on the constitution, civil rights and human rights; and the subcommittee on immigration, refugees and border security.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues on each of these subcommittees toward real and practical solutions for the people of Connecticut and our country,” Blumenthal said. “I have spent many years working on these issues as attorney general, and I am eager to continue this work …”
