West Hartford’s Blue Back Square officially has a new ice cream shop.
Frisbie’s Dairy Barn, a New Britain-based ice cream chain, marked the grand opening Monday of its new location at 38 Isham Road.
The location formerly was home to Kilwin’s Chocolates, a shop offering handcrafted chocolates and ice cream, among other confections. Kilwin’s closed in November.
The West Hartford shop is Frisbie’s fifth overall and third in Connecticut. In addition to New Britain and West Hartford, the chain has a shop in Windsor, as well as in North Attleboro and Sturbridge, Massachusetts. A new shop in East Lyme is expected to open soon.
Store hours are 1 to 10 p.m. daily.
