The Blue Back Square shopping development in West Hartford will install its second electric vehicle charger on Sept. 10.
Newington installer Connecticut Electric Car will install the charger at the Isham Road parking garage. The company also installed Blue Back Square’s first charger a year and a half ago under the Lexicon Building.
West Hartford has another charging station in its municipal lot on Arapahoe Road. Connecticut has several dozen public charging stations now, designed for electric cars and plug-in hybrids such as the Nissan Leaf and the Chevrolet Volt.
The new Blue Back Square station is part of a research project from Berlin electric utility Connecticut Light & Power to see how consumers charge their electric vehicles.
