Bloomfield-based health insurer Cigna Corp. announced Monday morning that it was rebranding with a new name.
The Cigna Group is now the holding company of two separate business units: Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth Health Services.
Cigna Healthcare is the health insurance provider of The Cigna Group, while Evernorth Health Services includes the company’s pharmacy and benefits management businesses.
This is the latest rebrand among health insurers as the industry broadens its offerings beyond just healthcare benefits. For example, health insurance giant Anthem last year rebranded as Elevance Health.

Cigna said it employs more than 70,000 workers and offers services in more than 30 countries and jurisdictions.
