Bloomfield’s BVH buys VT consultancy

Bloomfield building-site engineering consultants BVH Integrated Services announced Thursday it acquired a similar Vermont consultancy.

BVH, which unveiled its new Bloomfield headquarters in January, said it purchased Zero By Degrees (ZBD), which will move three of its employees to BVH offices at 206 West Newberry Road.

Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

ZBD will operate under the BVH banner, and will retain three employees in Vermont and New Hampshire.

The combined companies will provide commissioning, diagnostics, plan and specification reviews, consulting and infrared imaging and membrane adhesion testing, among other services.

BVH officials said its commissioning unit has worked with ZBD Founder Jon Haehnel and his team for more than five years on various building envelope commissioning projects.

“Having ZBD’s building envelope expertise as part of our integrated services now gives our clients single source access from pre-design through post-occupancy,” BVH CEO Karl Frey said.

Founded in 1958, BVH has 120 employees in 24,000 square feet of the former home of Capital Regional Education Council’s (CREC) Museum Academy for preschool and kindergarten. BVH also has an office in Newton, Mass.
