Bloomfield picks Maryland firm for charging stations

Bloomfield has picked Maryland-based SemaConnect to supply its two publicly available electric vehicle charging stations at town hall.

The SemaConnect charging stations will provide 240 volts of electricity, and the software will enable the town to charge users based on the real-time price of electricity.

Bloomfield electric contractor Brannack Electric will install the stations.

SemaConnect also will provide a smartphone app to allow drivers to manage their charging sessions and search for other stations.
