Meriden-based architecture, engineering and environmental consulting firm BL Companies said President and CEO Carolyn Stanworth will retire at the end of 2026 after 27 years with the company.
Stanworth, who has led the firm since 2010, joined BL in 1999 as chief financial officer. She was promoted to chief operating officer in 2003 before becoming president and CEO during the Great Recession.
Following her retirement, the employee-owned company said Vice President of Operations Derek Kohl and Vice President of Operations and General Counsel Julia O’Brien will serve as co-presidents.
Stanworth will remain involved with the company as an external member of BL Companies’ board of directors, where she has served for two decades.
BL Companies provides architecture, engineering, environmental and land-surveying services and has more than 375 employee-owners across multiple states. The company is headquartered in Meriden.
