Connecticut-based chicken sandwich chain Birdcode will open its newest location Thursday at Corbin’s Corner in New Britain.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the restaurant’s new 2,500-square-foot location at 474 Hartford Road, next to Starbucks and across from Target and Costco. The first 100 customers will receive a free chicken sandwich.
The restaurant, founded by Phil and Brandi Killoran, specializes in hot chicken sandwiches and tenders served at five spice levels, from mild “Country” to the hottest “Code Breaker.” The menu also includes house-made sides, desserts and sauces.
The restaurant has partnered with local artist Corey Pane, whose artwork will be displayed in the location, and Mountain Dairy of Storrs for dairy products.
The location will offer dine-in, takeout and delivery options. Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
Birdcode, founded in 2020, has other locations in West Hartford, Darien and Vernon, with plans to expand further.
