Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said he has introduced legislation that aims to increase college completion rates at the state’s 17 colleges and universities.
The bill would create a program called “Go Back to Get Ahead,” which would be administered by the Board of Regents and offer up to three free three-credit courses needed to complete a previously initiated associate’s or bachelor’s degree program.
The $20.4 million program would run for two years. Malloy said approximately 100,000 people could be eligible.
