Pay raises for American professionals this year will be as much as eight times smaller than those for their counterparts in China, India and Eastern Europe, a difference driven largely by the fast-paced growth in those countries, predicts Philadelphia-based consultants the
Hay Group
. United States-based administrative, professional and senior management employees will see increases of just 1.4 percent, versus roughly 8 percent those other economies. Those numbers, which are adjusted for inflation, are based on employers’ projections, Hay Group said.
