Bigelow Tea leases Orange space, expands product line

Bigelow Tea has leased a warehouse in Orange to expand its real estate footprint, and it also recently launched a line of cold water herbal infusions.

The Fairfield-headquartered tea company signed an eight-year lease for a 41,600-square-foot warehouse at 35 Executive Blvd., Orange.

The business, which sells over 150 varieties of tea, plans to use the Orange facility to expand its storage and distribution capacity, according to real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.

President and CEO Cindi Bigelow said in an announcement, “I am happy to continue to grow in the state that I love and call home and am looking forward to being part of the Orange community.”

Michael Dillon, director of Cushman & Wakefield’s Leasing Services Group in its Stamford office, represented the landlord, GTJ REIT. Bruce Wettenstein, SIOR of Vidal Wettenstein in Westport, represented Bigelow Tea in the deal.

The Orange warehouse appealed to the company because of its size and location, Bigelow said. It has a loading area designed to accommodate six bays, and it is close to Interstate 95.

Hot weather, cool tea

Last month, the family-owned tea company introduced its Bigelow Botanicals Cold Water Infusion line. It features fruit and herb combinations for zero-calorie, no caffeine drinks. As with regular tea, the infusions include a bag for dipping, but in cold water instead of hot.

The line comes in a range of flavors, including watermelon cucumber mint, blackberry raspberry hibiscus, cranberry lime honeysuckle, blueberry citrus basil and strawberry lemon orange blossom.

“With today’s growing awareness and need to live a healthy lifestyle, we created these beautiful cold water infusion blends to support your wellness choices,” Bigelow said. “It’s truly unlike anything else and really does help you to drink more water throughout the day.”
