Springfield-based Big Y Foods Inc. has paid $22.4 million to purchase a West Hartford shopping plaza where it already operates a grocery store.
Big Y recently purchased the 112,920-square-foot Crossroads Plaza at 714 North Main St., in West Hartford, property records show.
The seller was Sea Crossroads West Hartford LLC, which lists a South Carolina business address, state records show. Sea Crossroads bought the property in 2002 for $9.7 million, property records show.
Crossroads Plaza is anchored by a Big Y supermarket that has been in operation since November 2010, according to brokerage firm Newmark, which represented the seller in the deal and procured the buyer.
Other tenants include locally-operated restaurants, a wine/liquor store, The UPS Store and a Webster Bank with a drive-through.
The property was built in 1956, sits on 8.44 acres and has an appraised value of $14.2 million, according to the town’s most recent assessment.
