Big Y Foods Inc. has named Theresa A. Jasmin chief financial officer, succeeding the recently retired William T. Mahoney. She will be responsible for the company’s strategic planning, finance, accounting, treasury and tax functions. Jasmin is the first woman to be appointed to the C suite for the company.
Jasmin has more than 25 years of experience in the food industry. She began her career at Friendly Ice Cream Corp., where she held senior management positions in both Treasury and Accounting. She joined Big Y in 2005 and held several positions of increasing responsibility in accounting and finance. She became controller in 2010. In 2014, she was appointed senior director of finance, followed by vice president of finance in 2016.
She currently serves on the Executive Committee and as Treasurer for the YMCA of Greater Springfield, Mass. She also serves on the finance committees for both the Connecticut and Massachusetts Food Associations.
Jasmin holds a BBA from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and an MBA from Western New England University.

BioXcel Therapeutics Inc. of New Haven, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company utilizing artificial intelligence to identify improved therapies in neuroscience and immuno-oncology, has named Will Kane executive vice president and chief commercial officer (CCO). Kane previously held senior-level commercial positions at biopharma companies including Allergan, Pfizer, and Sepracor (now Sunovion Pharmaceuticals). Most recently, he was senior vice president and head of the U.S. general medicine business unit at Allergan, a multi-therapeutic portfolio with $5.8 billion in 2019 sales, where he oversaw more than 2,000 sales and marketing professionals. Kane holds a BA in government from Connecticut College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Renee Stevens has joined the North Haven office of Pearce Commercial Real Estate as a sales associate. She was previously employed as a commercial estimator involved in building automation system projects. She has previous residential real estate experience and has been a small-business owner.
