University of New Haven is opening its first overseas satellite campus in Prato, Italy in the fall, officials say.
UNH President Steven H. Kaplan and province officials signed their agreement Friday in Palazzo Vestri in Prato’s Cathedral Square, where the new campus is located.
Prato is the second largest city in Tuscany, a 20-minute train ride from Florence.
UNH will lease an entire floor of the old palace.

Meals will be provided by cafés surrounding the campus, and students will have several apartment and hotel-style housing options available within walking distance.
