Ben Bronz Academy, a private special education school in West Hartford, has purchased the former St. Rose School campus at 21 Church St. in East Hartford for $1.3 million, according to an announcement Friday from broker Amodio & Co.
The property includes a 23,504-square-foot school building with a gymnasium, 5,801-square-foot church and 3,686-square-foot rectory on 8.98 acres. The seller was North American Martyrs Parish Corp.
Ben Bronz Academy plans to relocate from its current facility at 11 Wampanoag Drive in West Hartford, following renovations to the East Hartford campus, the announcement states.
The academy serves students in grades 2 through 12 with learning disabilities including dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, executive function difficulties and ADHD. Founded in 1985, the school currently enrolls about 50 students.
Amodio & Co. was the sole broker in the deal. Frank Amodio Sr. represented the seller, while Eric Amodio represented the buyer.
